Thanks, Sue. This has really been a remarkable year so far. As I write, 70 thousand barrels of oil are pouring into the gulf every day. I wonder if the white beaches I remember from my childhood will ever be the same.

And today is 12 May 2010 (my youngest child's 18th birthday). I read about everyone's New Year's hopes and sadly wonder what y'all were drinking- or perhaps your personalities are positive and hopeful more than I. The natural disasters just keep occurring one after another after another after another. Will it not stop?! Are the 2012 predictions correct, or perhaps we aren't even going to make it to 2012?! Yesterday the earth swallowed an entire house and took 4 family members with it in Quebec. I took a few Geology courses in college, and enjoyed Earth Science in school. Plate tectonics what it is, some of the mountain ranges were slowly created, some occurred with sudden violent massive uplifting, like the Rocky Mountains. We human beings are dumb animals (sorry). We have such lovely homes, skyscrapers, and lives. Do we seriously think Mother Earth will take this into consideration and stop the seismic shifts, the volcanic activity (which could potentially poison our entire atmosphere and kill us all off, more easily than a nuclear bomb)? Insurance companies need to revamp their policies.

I was a radical advocate for the children- saying human life is all about the children and everything adults do in life, in the business world, everything is for the positive progress of humanity, kids first. OMIGOSH I am SO done raising kids and if ANYONE says I am going to live the rest of my life for the children I will bloody well strangle them!

Call me Ms. Doom & Gloom, 2010 has been hauntingly real thus far. My prayers are to the gods & goddesses for peace and well-being the rest of the year. Thanks for your blog and blessed be.

These words of sanity are only likely to fall upon the ears of the already-sane. However, your sentiments are much appreciated, and if more people took this sound advice on board then the world would indeed be a more balanced and equitable place. Amen for equilibrium and the ballast of common sense.

Wishing? Nay, KNOWING you are all going to stay truer to yourselves this year,
Gwas.
